It took me a really long time to find her
Or should I say, me.
So much was hidden behind illusions and blur.
Fighting life, my mirror, and a dark mask;
Is how I saved me.
Standing up and saying;
I’m not who or where, I want to be!
Each day spent learning and pushing harder;
Trying to save her!
I had to finally learn to forgive, to let go;
of the horrific pain and black shadow.
Piece by piece
I collected what was broken
And made her into, me.
A new woman and stronger one.
Open, but private and extremely cautious.
Optimistic yet, realistic.
Always discovering something new;
For her, my past… and me. For us!
