I’m A Mommy

The smell of coffee in the morning air,
The shower trickling down my body,
Heat running through my hair,
Two little ones…
who call me mommy.

Good morning hugs and kisses,
Sticky little fingerprints,
Because of them I’m ambitious,
Wanting to leave,
only the best imprints.

Everything I do,
Every choice I make,
They are looking up to.
Promises made.
I won’t break.

Their needs, always before my own.
Loving them won’t stop,
Even when they are grown,
Pieces of my heart…
They each own a part,
And are walking around outside of my body.
But to them….
I’m simply Mommy.
