About Me…

On this about me page I wanted to share some monumental pieces of my life that has shaped me into the woman I have become; from my life’s ever  changing events of hardships, disasters, successes and milestones.

Let me start off by saying, I am a 29 year-old woman who has experienced more things at my age then most will in their entire life. This blog for me is about hope, motivation, and a voice.  Knowing who I am, will only help my readers understand how I found drive and coping methods to continue to push forward regardless of my circumstances.

I am a mother of two beautiful children, motivated, self-disciplined, and a career oriented person. I truly believe that no matter the situation,  something of value will come out of the experience.  I am optimistic but, very realistic in applying my thoughts and energy.  Life to me is about the journey, happiness, the opportunities, drive, and will power to make the most out of it.

So many of us have experienced a thing or two that affects us, our emotional state of mind, likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses. We tend to allow those experiences to have the control; to making our choices and dictating our happiness.

Throughout my childhood, I was definitely given multiple experiences that should have me in therapy for years to come. (Although, I have never been to therapy) I have experienced everything from rape, molestation, a broken home, poverty, and abandonment. I worked three jobs going through high school to help support my siblings and myself.  By the time I finished high school  I had already started to deal with some health issues, and then I experienced Hurricane Katrina. If you are not familiar with Hurricane Katrina, shortly it was considered one of the deadliest hurricanes to ever hit the United States. It left millions homeless including, myself and entire family. This storm in itself was a tragedy and life altering experience. By the time I was 24 years old I had also, been diagnosed with a rare syndrome, blood disorder, cancer and lost a child. (I am currently very healthy and blessed.)

My entire life has shaped me into a very strong-minded person; who has been able to learn to cope and stay positive through all of my given situations. I am often asked by people (most of them not really knowing about my childhood but, only pieces of things about me as an adult) how I am so optimistic, successful, and strong-minded. Which is how I decided to start this blog.

I hope that the things I write about will help other people see more than their past, more than their today, see more than what is in front of them, and for them to see the outside.  See the outside… looking at things in a new perspective for a brighter, happier, and successful future. I hope that the people who read my blog will be inspired by it, learn, and grow from it.
